Gubler Family: September Sweeties

We have two September babies at our house! We celebrated Alice's 9th Birthday on September 10th and Annie's 5th Birthday on September 21st. Alice loves the cartoon Avatar the Last Air-bender so her cake was decorated with Ang, the main character of that show. Her Birthday dinner was Hu Hot style - yumm! It was a family party this year for her and we did invite the Moss family over to celebrate with us. That made Alice's day. They are some of her favorite friends and they are like family to us! Alice has a great love for our "new" firepit so we lit that up and roasted some marshmallows too.

A few weeks later, we surprised Alice with an opportunity to go horseback riding. This is something she has wanted to do for a couple years! My friend Nicole, from high school, was gracious enough to invite us to her home and took Alice for a ride on her horse. She was thrilled and had a wonderful time. Even Mary got to ride around a bit too at the end.

Annie turned 5 years old and we invited all her friends from pre-school over to celebrate. Annie wanted a dirt cake with gummy worms so worms became the theme for her party. The kids came and painted flower pots then played pin-the-worm-on-the-hook and dug for worms in the garden with their buckets and pails. And of course there was a pinata! It was lots of fun and lots of kiddos came to celebrate with Annie. So many that Mary and Alice got to stay home from school to help out for a couple hours. They were a BIG help too!

Finally, we celebrate again with Annie after a birthday dinner of fried chicken and corn on the cob. Grandpa King was in town so he got to come and our friends the Cleggs celebrate with us too! Annie was amazed she got to keep celebrating and had a wonderful day.
